Principle

The phone prepares the text, the dongle types it.

You use the phone microphone and screen to dictate, review, correct or reuse saved text. The dongle plugged into the target computer then receives the text and enters it as a USB keyboard.

The target computer does not need a good microphone, an account or installed software. It only needs to accept a USB keyboard.

Why a dongle?
Bluetooth-only solutions often require pairing or configuring the target computer. With Klavair, the connection is between the app and the dongle; the target computer only sees a USB keyboard.

Locked-down computers

Prepare a long text on the phone, then enter it on a company computer, guest session or administrative environment without installing software on that machine.

Terminals with no text sharing

Send text to a kiosk, console, dedicated machine or isolated computer that accepts a USB keyboard, but offers no app, cloud account or shared clipboard.

Dictation with the phone microphone

Phones already have very capable microphones. Klavair makes dictation possible on computers that do not have a good microphone installed.

How to use

The minimal flow only takes a few steps.

Klavair does not read the target screen and does not know where the cursor is. As with a real keyboard, you place the cursor where you want the text, then send.

Once

  1. Install the Klavair app, get a compatible dongle and flash the Klavair firmware.

For each new computer

  1. Plug your compatible dongle into the target computer.
  2. Connect the app to the dongle and choose the target keyboard profile.

As often as needed

  1. Dictate, paste or edit the text in the app.
  2. Place the cursor on the target computer, then send.

Privacy by design

Hardware

Klavair needs a compatible USB dongle.

The Klavair app does not work on its own: a dongle must be plugged into the target computer. The hardware below is either designed for Klavair or tested with Klavair. ESP32-S3 dongles must then receive the Klavair firmware from this site.

Pricing

The app price is shown in your store.

Klavair is purchased through in-app purchase in the App Store or Google Play. The dongle remains a separate purchase from the seller of your choice.

Not included The USB dongle, its shipping and the seller warranty.

What Klavair provides, and what remains external.

  • What Klavair provides Klavair's responsibility covers the Klavair app and Klavair firmware.
  • What remains external Hardware, marketplaces, delivery times, prices and seller warranties remain the responsibility of their providers.
  • How the dongle works The dongle communicates with the Klavair app and appears as an ordinary USB keyboard to the computer it is plugged into.
  • Organizations Klavair can offer a firmware code review under confidentiality agreement with the IT security manager.
  • Internal rules Check that using the dongle is allowed by your organization's internal rules.
